Do you need retail therapy? If shopping is a favorite pastime, Downtown State College near Penn State University has you covered. Need Nittany Lion gear? Never fear, we have many stores selling everything from PSU socks and underwear to jackets and hats. The downtown shops also feature an eclectic mix of retail chains, independent local shops, and more restaurants then you can count. While you’re in Centre County, don’t forget to visit the antique shops in Bellefonte and the specialty shops in Boalsburg. Of course, we also have to mention the Bone Bar & Boutique in downtown Bellefonte. This adorable and very unique shop for dogs and cats is owned by our daughter, Carly. She carries bakery treats, bulk treats, Penn State dog attire, and Made in America toys. Don’t forget to tell her that the Reynolds Mansion sent you!
If you’re looking for big box stores, there are two Walmarts, a Home Depot, Lowe’s, Sam’s Club, Home Goods, Michael’s, Trader Joe’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, and more. We even have a small mall called the Nittany Mall which is on the way from Bellefonte to State College. If you’re headed over to Wegman’s to stock your son/daughter up with food, you’ll find a Kohl’s, Target, and Dick’s Sporting Goods right next door.
An interesting new shopping spot is called The Barn at Lemont. It is approximately a ten-minute drive from the Reynolds Mansion.
